Hampshire National Garden Scheme

If you cannot find a copy in your local garden centre, the The Hampshire NGS booklet is now available on-line here.

Many  gardens in the Scheme are now open.  For some, visitors must pre-book their tickets.

For those who are not able to travel to visit these outdoor attractions, please note the virtual garden tours that are available on the NGS website at the link given in the list of suggestions above.

The Google Arts & Culture web site referred to above offers an extraordinary range of virtual experiences including tours of over 2000 art galleries and museums around the World, high resolution images and tours of thousands of famous artworks such as Rembrandt's Night Watch and Canaletto's Venice, visits to the the most famous sites and buildings. There are also quizes and practical things to do.

Take part in the u3a weekly maths challenge, with problems and puzzles posed by Gordon Burgin, Andrew Holt and David Martin, u3a Maths and Stats Subject Adviser.  There are 15 weeks of quizzes and answers here.

 


UK Tours Online

Offering a very wide and interesting range of  live talks and tours.  Those in the list include tours of City Squares, Archeology under the streets, The Cotswolds, talks on Winston Churchill and about Bloomsbury.  There are many more. Eventbrite offers a wide ranging collection of on-line events ranging, they say from "fitness sessions, panel discussions, comedy gigs and everything in between" . These are paid for events.  All details are on the Eventbrite website.
