Friday 4 October 2024 -  3 night stay at Potters Resort, Hopton on Sea, Norfolk

As this is such a late offer please respond to Carole on visits@fleetu3a.org.uk ASAP for further information.

This is interest ONLY as the Visits Team has been offered a special price for this date. Due to members asking for a return visit we are investigating its viability.

The price will include coach fare either way (when we have a confirmed cost), drivers tip and parking.

At Potters all drinks are free, 4 meals a day, food is wonderful, sports, quizzes, crafts. The list of activities to take part in is vast, and at the end of the day wonderful shows.

Accommodation is in bungalows with all the facilities of a hotel. Twin/double rooms single are at a premium, but thee is a bungalow that accommodates 2 persons with the own bedrooms but a shared bathroom. For extra cost pp per night, there are hotel rooms.

Last year Potters offered £5 for the insurance, which if you have to make a claim before the event monies would be refunded, minus the £5, there would be no refund from U3A for the coach cost, unless we could sell it on.

As soon as we have a confirmed price we will let everyone know.

Meanwhile have look at Potters web site. pottersresorts.com

Hope to see many of you on this visit. Non members are not eligible, but for £14 pp per annum is good value for all that Fleet U3A offers.

Tuesday 10 June 2025 -  Chartwell & Emmett’s Garden (National Trust)     Price TBC

Chartwell, was the family home of Winston Churchill from 1924 until his death in 1966 and is full of his memorabilia. His love of painting helped him through many turbulent times and records of this can be seen. Military uniforms, medals and records of the many awards he achieved along with his world-famous cigars are on display. The house is set out as it would have been in the 1930’s, but in 2020 the secretary’s office was opened to the public, and is furnished how it was in the 1950’s.

The gardens at Chartwell at this time of year will be lovely, but we have another treat as the Rose Gardens at Emmett’s are magnificent and are classed as one of the best in the UK. Ten minutes away from Chartwell this is a really good double trip not to be missed, especially if you have NT membership. Set at the highest point in the Kent weald this Edwardian Garden has far reaching views to enjoy on the many benches and seating areas.

On sale March /April at the Monthly meeting.
